Alright, here it is....the topic of the week:
Guns-N-Roses and the Chinese Democracy.Where to begin. Alright, how about some background.
This album was started 10 years ago, and since the release of G-N-R's last album,
The Spaghetti Incident, in 1993 (which did not have the desired album sales), G-N-R has cancelled countless shows, shelved the rest of at least 2 world tours, and ticked a lot of people off.
Now, in the latest installment in the saga of the
Chinese Democracy, the album has actually been delivered to Geffen Records by the Gunners.
Now rumors are surfacing that Axl, in his infinite compassion and wisdom, identified so much with the Chinese people when they lost their Olympic bid in 2004 that he vowed not to release an album until the Olympic games were held in Beijing.
My thoughts...
Even though I'm taking the time to type this, does this album, or even this band, matter? I mean, its been almost a decade since they contributed anything musically. And this album was started in 1998. 1998! Mudvayne recently had to revamp their songs slated for a new album because they went back to them and weren't happy less than a year later!
Is Axl really so in tune with international compassion that he held up the release of the album intentionally?
Do we need another G-N-R album, world tour, Axl media attention? That will be up to you, I'm just asking the questions here.
Will
you buy the album?

See you at Puddle of Mudd....I'm out!
It's been awhile....
